May 5th 2018 was the day that changed my life forever. The day I was gifted LIFE with a new heart! There isn’t a day that goes by that I do not only think but feel the connection with my donor and what it meant for me to be blessed with another chance at LIFE! I will never truly understand how I was the one who got the call and what made me worthy of this blessing but what I do know is I will do everything in my power to show my donor that this priceless gift was not in vain. It is my (new) magnificent obsession to spread love, inform any and everyone the importance of what being an organ donor can mean for some old washed up man like me and the impact you can make in this world.

This canvas although not created by a renowned artist is a representation of what life looks for me since my heart transplant- my own masterpiece. What you see is the first tweet I made announcing I got the call and in the back ground the closest and dearest image I have of my connection to my new heart that beats inside me.The image you of myself in the left corner is with my new heart and the image of me on the right looking out was a period of time when I was on the waiting list for a heart. During the transplant process they ask you if you would like to connect with your donors family and without hesitation I said yes! It is now up to the family of the donor to decide if they would like to communicate and until I am given the opportunity to speak with them, my message to everyone is this:

YOU ARE BLESSED! Everyday is a day you were NOT guaranteed but gifted. Only YOU can decide on what you would like to do with your life and how you would like to leave your legacy. Life is too short to second guess, hold grudges, hold that one phone call off to the certain someone in your life for the “right” time. You are here for a reason and if no one has told you yet, you are LOVED! Celebrate as much as you can whenever you can because It is still and will always be your MF set!!!
